The first reason would be a custom-built computer is better than an off-the-shelf computer. A computer that was mass-produced is one in which you had no choice of what hardware pieces it contains. With our systems, you can choose the mainboard, the microprocessor, the video card, the hard drive, everything. You can't do that with off-the-shelf computers. Also, pre-made computers have a lot of system integration. This means the video card, the sound card, the modem, and even the network card may be incorporated right into the mainboard. If one of those subsystems fails, your entire mainboard will have to be replaced. Additionally, to stuff all that extra circuitry onto the mainboard, design compromises have to be made. Secondly, it's better to buy from a local supplier than from someone who is located on the other side of the country. Should you system need any type of service or repair, it can be done more quickly when the supplier is located in your community. Besides, you would know your computer any better than the company who actually built it?
